In a strategic move to bolster its presence in Puerto Rico, Orlando Health has named Minedy Laracuente, MSN, APRN-FNP-BC, as the Assistant Vice President of Clinical Development and Integration for its Puerto Rico/Caribbean Region. The appointment comes as part of Orlando Health's ongoing collaboration with Doctors’ Center Hospital, aiming to enhance healthcare services in the region.

This partnership, initiated in October 2022, resulted in the establishment of Doctors’ Center Hospital - Orlando Health – Dorado, a 105-bed acute care hospital that commenced operations in March 2022. Since its inception, the collaboration has expanded to encompass several other healthcare facilities, including Doctors' Center Hospital Orlando Health – San Juan, Doctors' Center Hospital Orlando Health – Bayamón, Doctors' Center Hospital Orlando Health – Manatí, Doctors' Center Hospital Orlando Health – San Fernando de la Carolina, and Doctors' Center Hospital Orlando Health Centros de Urgencia – Arecibo, an ambulatory diagnostic and treatment center.

Bringing a wealth of experience to her new role, Minedy Laracuente has been entrusted with the task of advancing existing medical programs and introducing innovative clinical services in collaboration with Doctors' Center Hospital partners. With over a decade of clinical leadership experience and a track record of successfully developing clinical programs, Laracuente is expected to contribute to delivering high-quality healthcare outcomes.

Omar Gonzalez, Vice President of Orlando Health’s Puerto Rico/Caribbean Region, expressed confidence in Laracuente's capabilities, stating, "With deep familial ties to the island, Minedy brings over a decade of clinical leadership experience and a successful record of developing clinical programs alongside physicians to deliver high-quality outcomes. In this role, she will focus on enhancing existing medical programs and generating new clinical services with our Doctors' Center Hospital partners.”

Having joined Orlando Health in 2019, Laracuente initially provided care for women as an advanced practice registered nurse through Orlando Health Physician Associates. She later played a pivotal role in establishing and managing a COVID-19 testing and vaccination site, catering to patients, team members, and the Central Florida community. In her most recent position, Laracuente was responsible for standardizing and optimizing all pre-admission testing clinics within the Orlando Health system.

Minedy Laracuente, a graduate of Nova Southeastern University in Orlando with an undergraduate degree in nursing, further advanced her education by earning a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in family health, from the University of Central Florida.

Assuming her new role on November 1, 2023, Laracuente is poised to play a crucial part in shaping the future of healthcare delivery in the Puerto Rico/Caribbean Region under the Orlando Health umbrella.
